February 2025: We're Hiring for an ED & PATH Update!
Hello neighbor,
We just launched our search for a new Executive Director. Learn how you can apply below! Plus - next steps on Vision Zero and good news on the PATH campaign.
Executive Director (Part Time) Role

We're excited to announce that HCCS is seeking our next Executive Director to help lead our growing organization. This part-time leadership role represents an important phase in our development as we continue to strengthen our position as a grassroots force for transportation advocacy in Hudson County.
We're seeking a dynamic individual who can spend 20 hours per week building on our established momentum, with potential for the position to expand to full-time within 12-18 months. The ideal candidate will bring nonprofit experience and a talent for fundraising, while sharing our commitment to transportation equity. They will lead our fundraising initiatives, strengthen our advocacy campaigns, maintain crucial partnerships, and help shape our strategic direction.
If you or someone you know is a self-starter with a passion for creating positive change in Hudson County's transportation landscape, we encourage you to learn more about this opportunity.
Vision Zero Safety Action Plan Now Available

On January 11, Hudson County unveiled their newly completed Vision Zero Safety Action Plan!
In preparation for the final adoption of the Safety Action Plan currently slated for the March 27 Commissioners Meeting, are the different options for the public to provide official comments prior to it. We are encouraging our community to show up and ask for fast and immediate action on the High Injury Network including JFK Blvd, the most dangerous County Road.
Public hearings: Official public hearing will be held on March 6th from 6-8PM at the Hudson County Plaza Building (257 Cornelison Avenue, Jersey City) – in the Press Room on the first floor. Click here for more details and to register.
Send written comments: Written comments may be submitted to Francesca Giarratana, Deputy Director, fgiarratana@hcnj.us by COB on March 6, 2025.
This is massive progress for Hudson County. The next phase is all about getting our elected officials on board for actually enacting many of these recommendations. Showing community appetite for these changes will be critical in the year to come. To read the report follow the link below.
PATH Campaign Update. Volunteers Needed!

We have a campaign update!
Port Authority Chairman Kevin O'Toole publicly committed to service improvements in March: “We’ll take all those [2000+ petition] requests under advisement. There has been a sea change in PATH investments and you’ll hear more about it in March.”
Hudson County Commissioners unanimously passed a resolution calling for more PATH service.
We're meeting directly with the executive leadership of the PATH next Monday to identify concrete improvements to service.
We need volunteers for canvassing at PATH stations to reach our goal of 10,000 signatures! Can't make the Saturday shifts? We can also train you to volunteer on your own schedule - just note that in the sign-up form. Sign up people any time you’re waiting on a PATH platform - it’s always an opportunity to find more supporters!
Can’t canvass, but have other skills you’d like to volunteer - like media & messaging, organizing, and outreach? We need your help too, note that on the form!
The 2025 Bike & Walk Summit is on March 29!
