January 2025: Vision Zero Plan Launch Jan. 11
Hello neighbor,
Welcome back! We have exciting news about the county’s Vision Zero plan. Read more below to learn what’s next.
Hudson County to Launch Vision Zero Plan on January 11
On Saturday, January 11th at 11am Hudson County is unveiling their newly completed Vision Zero Implementation Plan! We encourage everyone to attend this event and show support for the progress made to date. It’s also an opportunity to remind your County elected officials about our most dangerous County roads including John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Tonnelle Avenue, 14th Street Viaduct, Bergenline Avenue, JFK Boulevard East, and many more. The goal of a Vision Zero Task Force is to bring together all the relevant municipal agencies and come up with actions and a plan to reduce the number of serious injuries and fatalities caused by vehicles to zero. It's been proven to be one of the most effective strategies to improve street safety.
Hudson County Complete Streets advocated for and ultimately succeeded in helping the county secure a federal SS4A grant that has funded the creation of this Vision Zero Task Force and Plan. As result, we’ve had a seat on the Task Force and been giving input throughout the past year.
This is massive progress for Hudson County yet the work clearly isn’t done. The next phase is all about getting our elected officials on board for actually enacting many of these recommendations. Showing community appetite for these changes will be critical in the year to come. Join us on Saturday!

PATH Campaign was successful! Next Steps.

We mobilized a record-breaking 2000 people to sign petitions and write letters for improved PATH service – 10x more than what Port Authority received in 2023! A stunning 1085 people asked for the Port Authority to run more frequent PATH trains off-peak, compared to 110 in 2023 and just 1 in 2022. Additionally, over 800 comments asked to extend PATH to Newark Airport; nearly 500 asked to operate the Lincoln Tunnel bus lanes 24/7. And dozens of riders showed up in person at the Port Authority input sessions and board meeting to speak for better service.
There’s still more work to do in 2025 and we need your help. There will be volunteer opportunities to canvass at PATH stations and much more. In the meantime visit our Port Authority campaign page and share the petition with your friends!
