After a year of advocacy efforts, we are thrilled the Port Authority announced major PATH service improvements in PATH service. When implemented, the Port Authority will restore PATH service to levels not seen in nearly 25 years!
But we’re not done, we’re just getting started. Want to help us build upon campaign wins? There are two things you can do this week to help.

The Work Continues
We continue to advocate for PATH extension to Newark Airport and look forward to seeing it incorporated in future plans, as well as station improvements. To sign up to volunteer, visit https://hudcostreets.org/panynj/volunteer.
Our campaign that made two requests:
5-minute off-peak PATH service on nights and weekends
A direct PATH extension to Newark Airport (EWR)
While we acknowledge that fare increases are necessary to improve service, we call for the Port Authority and both states–New Jersey and New York–to implement “fair fares” for transit trips–lower fares for low-income riders.
PATH serves more than 200,000 riders per weekday and 100,000 per weekend day. Increased service means increased ridership. Let’s continue to improve transit in our region! Save the date and stay tuned for our upcoming North Jersey Transit Forum, Saturday, April 25th, 2026, in Jersey City!
