May 2025: Rage Against the Turnpike Expansion!
Note: You may be receiving this newsletter if you recently signed a petition from Hudson County Complete Streets.
Hello neighbor,
There’s an emergency rally against the Turnpike Expansion on Wednesday, May 14. More details below!
May 14 - Rage Against the Turnpike Machine

The US Coast Guard released a decision concluding, inexplicably, that the Turnpike Expansion project would have "no significant impact" on surrounding communities. In response, Mayor Fulop immediately released a statement reiterating the call to cancel this project and invest in mass transit.
As a result of these events, we are holding a "Rage Against the Turnpike Machine" rally on Wednesday, May 14, 5pm-6:30pm, to speak to the failure of the Environmental Assessment to adequately assess the risks and impact of this project and announce the next steps we will be taking to stop this disastrous project. Local advocates and elected officials will be speaking. Please consider marking your calendar and showing up, and invite a friend or two!
WHEN: Wednesday, May 14, 5pm-6:30pm
WHERE: Mary Benson Park, Jersey City
WHAT: More than 20 elected representatives and other speakers to oppose the turnpike widening
