Rally Against the Turnpike Expansion in Bayonne 6/18
Note: You may be receiving this newsletter if you recently signed a petition from Hudson County Complete Streets.

Hello neighbor,
The NJ Turnpike Authority is proceeding with its $11.0 billion plan to expand the 8.1 mile section of the Turnpike between Newark and Jersey City at a time when public transit is failing, NJ TRANSIT fares are increasing, NJ TRANSIT cannot fund needed capital projects, and traffic is down because of congestion pricing.
Join EmpowerNJ, Hudson County allies, local mayors, and other elected officials Wednesday, June 18th for our first post-primary rally against the Turnpike Expansion!
WHEN: Wednesday, June 18, 2025 @ 5:30pm-6:30pm
WHERE: Woodrow Wilson School #10, 101 W. 56th St., Bayonne
WHAT: Rally against the turnpike expansion with speakers and local officials before the public hearing begins at 6:30pm.
MORE: New Jersey Turnpike Authority Public Notice
The next New Jersey Governor will have the unilateral power to stop this disastrous project and make New Jersey more affordable and less polluted. They don’t need to own Murphy’s boondoggle and they don’t need to spend billions in taxpayer dollars for an unnecessary and expensive highway widening project, which will increase traffic, greenhouse gasses and pollution and leave public transit underfunded.
