The best time to build transit was 20 years ago. The second best time is NOW.

This work matters, and we’d love to have you with us.

for the NORTH JERSEY TRANSIT FORUM!

Dear Friend,

It’s Transit Season In New Jersey!

If you’re receiving our newsletter, it means on some level, you prefer to live in a community with reliable transit, calmer streets, and less pollution. We think this is completely reasonable!

So, we need your help, and we’ve done everything possible to make it worth your while: Join us at the North Jersey Transit Forum!

From left to right, this graphic shows the Statue of Liberty, the Hudson Bergen Light Rail, a cyclist, a couple pushing a baby stroller, a New Jersey Transit bus, the I-78 Newark Bay Bridge, and informs the viewer "Let's CONNECT at the NORTH JERSEY TRANSIT FORUM. You can hear from the biggest decision-makers in transit and politics, meet new friends, and connect with community. Check out our roster of speakers — it’s unbelievable!

Why It Matters

The campaigns HudCoStreets runs, the issues we tackle for our community, if we’re not doing it, no one is doing it. This isn’t hyperbole. This was the status our founders discovered in 2021.

It can’t be! There’s not one group in Hudson County fighting for better transit? Not ONE group pushing for multimodal transportation? No one arguing that opportunity only exists if a person has a way to reach it?

It was a surprise to us, too, but Hudson County Complete Streets is the largest grassroots advocacy organization in New Jersey fighting for safe, equitable, sustainable transportation. We’re doing work that matters, and that requires advocates who can remain in our community!

Why You Should Be Encouraged

Even on a shoestring budget and mostly volunteer-run, we’ve been winning. Increased PATH service. Stopping the Turnpike expansion. Securing a County commitment for BRT on JFK Boulevard. Imagine what we could achieve if our efforts were supported by a full-time staff!

How to Help Even If You Can’t Attend!

If you can’t join us, we ask you to assess what you’re able to contribute. If you’re doing well and it’s $10,000, it’s meaningful. If you’re struggling, but you can give $25, it’s meaningful.

We're pushing forward because the people of this region deserve the dignity of fast, frequent and effective public transportation.

So with an open heart, and faith in my community, I ask for your help.

I hope to see you at Transit Forum, welcome your donation, and appreciate the vocal support, petition signatures, and attendance at public meetings with us where we speak truth to power and say the people of Hudson County deserve better.
