Hey friend!

🟨 Summer's Here — But We’re Not Backing Down

Better PATH service is something we need year-round — not just during election season.

This email is simple and urgent:

We need 15 people to show up at the Port Authority board meeting this Thursday.

🗓️ Thursday, June 26th
🕐 1:00–3:00 PM
📍 2 Montgomery Street, Jersey City, NJ
🔗 email us for registration details

There are over 7000 people on this list — and just 15 of us need to show the Port Authority we can’t be waited out.

We’re not going away. You don’t even have to go to NYC — this one’s right here in JC.

💬 Love it or hate it, this is what American democracy looks like.

We write letters.

We sign petitions.

And yes, we show up — until they’re sick of seeing us and start listening.

🤝 Can’t Go? That’s Okay — But If You Can, Please Go for Your Neighbor

We all say community matters. But it doesn’t happen by accident — not on socials, not over email.

Community means showing up — especially when it’s inconvenient.

We need you.

Your neighbors need you.

📍 Where We’re At

  • Over 7,000 HudCo members
  • Attention from elected officials, candidates, and voters
  • PATH is a mainstream topic
  • Port Authority begins budget planning this fall

What started as an idea became a petition, then headlines — now, it’s a political issue across Hudson and Essex Counties, and soon, all of NJ.

We need to stay in their inboxes, at their offices, and on their mind.

Emails are easy to ignore.

Fifteen people in the room? Much harder.

We wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important. It is.

The PA Board needs to hear how PATH’s poor service affects us personally — and that starts with showing up.

(And again — it’s in Jersey City, not NYC.)

🚇What’s the Topic?

Off-peak PATH service is too infrequent — and it’s hurting people.
Weekday middays, nights, and weekends all matter. It affects:

  • ⏰ Shift workers
  • 🧱 Construction workers
  • 🚑 First responders
  • 🧼 Service and hospitality workers
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families and caregivers

Life doesn’t happen only during rush hour.
PATH should serve people when they actually need it.

And they can — if we show them who it affects and how.

✍️ Is My Story Worth Telling? (Spoiler: Yes.)

If PATH has ever affected your ability to:

  • ⏰ Be on time to work
  • 💸 Save money
  • 💬 Stay connected to friends
  • 🩺 Attend appointments on time
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Show up for loved ones

Then your story matters.

Any of these sound familiar?
“I have to leave home way too early just to be on time for work.”
“I’ve been late to appointments more times than I can count.”
“I spend more on childcare because of PATH delays.”
“I avoid events because PATH is a hassle.”

🎤 Who Should Speak?

Anyone affected by unreliable off-peak service — including weekdays and weekends.

Our individual stories make the impact visible. Together, we show why PATH must be fixed — for work, family, and our future.

😬 “1PM on a Thursday? Really?”

We get it. We don’t want to go either.

The timing is meant to keep us away.

They’re counting on us to give up — like most movements eventually do.

But we’re not most people.

And we’re not going away.

We show up because this is bigger than any one of us.

And it can’t be done alone.

Your voice makes a real difference.

❗ Why It Matters

The PA Board doesn’t know who you are — yet.

It’s a powerful statement when people from different occupations & backgrounds are willing to spend their time doing something inconvenient,

And our work is already paying off:

  • Electeds are backing us
  • PATH is now a political issue
  • Candidates are asking to campaign with us

We just have to keep the pressure on.

🙌 Oh Fine, I’m In. What’s Next?

🗓️ Thursday, June 26th
🕐 1:00–3:00 PM
📍 2 Montgomery Street, Jersey City, NJ
🔗 email us for registration details

📧 If you're committed to going, reply to this email or contact us at hello@hudcostreets.org. We’ll make sure you’re fully prepped.

We’re serious about this.

And we’re doing it right.
