We Won On PATH. Here's What's Coming Next

A review of our recent PATH win, forward progress on our Better Light Rail campaign, and a handful of Hudson County safety improvement projects.

Dear Friend,

The last months have been a whirlwind of activity for transit & transportation in Hudson County!

  • A Better PATH celebrated its first big service win

  • Better Light Rail has started actively canvassing across Hudson County

  • Safety improvement projects for Paterson Plank Rd, JFK Blvd, and JFK Blvd East are all inviting participation

It’s really exciting, and if you want to help there are many ways: by joining our Slack; by supporting our efforts, and by reading the rest of this email to learn how we’re fighting for Hudson County.

We Secured Biggest PATH Service Increase in 25 Years

In response to our Better PATH campaign, the Port Authority has committed to the biggest service increase in years. Direct weekend service on the JSQ–33rd Street and Hoboken–WTC lines returns, alongside more frequent rush-hour trains and expanded late-night service.

To be clear, there are further service improvements coming in 2027, and our campaign is remaining present to ensure these improvements are set in stone. We thank every rider, official, and volunteer who helped make it happen, and we thank the Port Authority for responding to our concerns!

  • We canvassed alongside Mayor Jabbour in Hoboken at 9th Street Station on June 2nd

  • We're back out with Council President Ridley at Danforth Ave Station on June 9th

  • Councilwoman Singh will join us at Exchange Place Station on June 25th

When riders, advocates, and elected officials work together, we get things done.

The county is planning real safety improvements across Hudson. Both events and and public input are invited:

  • 6/8 — Tonight, 6:00 - 7:30 — Paterson Plank Road. Weigh in on the safety improvement plan.

  • 6/10 — Wednesday, 6:00 - 7:30  — JFK Boulevard. Two segments under review—share your input on both.

  • Open comment portal now — JFK Blvd East at Braddock Park. Modern roundabouts will calm traffic and shorten pedestrian crossings inside the park—a real win. But the plan lacks protected bike lanes, leaving cyclists at risk. Submit a comment urging planners to add them now, not later.

We're effective, we're active, and we're already looking to the next project. See you out there.
